Our Bible story this week tells what happened to Jesus after he died on the cross.
While Jesus’ disciples were mourning Him, something amazing happened that changed the whole world forever!
After Jesus died on the cross, His body was buried in a tomb. But Jesus did not stay dead! Three days after He was crucified, He rose to life again–just as He told His disciples He would!
WOW.
Let’s get right to work investigating!
LET’S INVESTIGATE
At first, Jesus’ disciples did not believe that He had risen from the grave.
The first people to see that the tomb was empty were the women who had gone to anoint His body with burial spices. When the women ran back to tell the others, the disciples did not believe them.
Were there other witnesses?
Let’s see if you can identify any of these witnesses to the events of this investigation so far…
And here’s a witness-identification page for our younger C4Kids.
Before He was arrested, Jesus told His disciples He would die and be raised to life again.
And after He died on the cross, many witnesses saw Jesus alive again!
Let’s look at the evidence to see for yourselves, with the help of the Bible Scanner 2000.
examine the evidence
A person raising Himself from the grave? More than 500 eyewitnesses?
That’s BIG news!
When someone does something really big, something as incredible as this–there has to be a motive.
Jesus did have a motive for taking on our punishment on the cross, and for raising to life again through the power of His Holy Spirit.
Jesus’ mission was to redeem our sin once and for all, and to bring His people, His children–YOU!–back to Himself, forever! He completed this mission through His death and resurrection!
Challenge question:
Here is another mystery: Where is Jesus now?
You can search the Scriptures to discover His whereabouts. When you finish, click the next box to see if you are correct!
