40 Days of Prayer – Week 5

HOW TO PRAY THROUGHOUT YOUR DAY

40 Days of Prayer – Part 5  (Turn to Mt 6)

The power of prayer!  kitten climbed a tree

Prayer is our greatest Privilege –

In Eph 6:11-13  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13  Therefore put on the full armor of God…

Spiritual Armor consists of…

Belt of truth… Breastplate of righteousness… Feet fitted w/ Gospel… Shield of faith… Sword of the Spirit… Then Paul places a huge emphasis on prayer, that bridges over to our heavenly Father… We desperately need the Lord in our lives… Armor-up & Pray!  We read in Eph 6:18…

Eph 6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. And always pray for all God’s people.”

7 INSTRUCTIONS from v18:

1. Pray “in the Spirit”…

2. At all times…

3. With all kinds of…

4. About everything…

5. Always be ready…

7. Pray for all God’s people! …

1.  KEEP A RUNNING CONVERSATION WITH GOD

Ephesians 6:18 “pray in the Spirit on all occasions…”

Andrew Murray said, “Prayer is not monologue, but dialogue; God’s voice is its most essential part.  Listening to God’s voice is the secret of the assurance that He will listen to mine”.

God speaks through His Word, through circumstances, through prayer, & through His church

The Lord’s Prayer is not just a pattern for praying, it is a pattern for living!

Lord, teach us to pray…  Just DO IT
