·
It’s time we ‘UNLEASH’ this generation to fulfill their
God-given destiny. Far too often circumstance and attitudes such as
abandonment, deep wounds, loneliness, loss, pain, feelings of being average,
and boredom hinder us from living out their God-given destiny. ·
The nation of Israel turned away from God and the Lord sent
them into Babylonian captivity for 70 years ·
As hard as it was for them, it allowed God to once again “get
their attention” and fulfill His promises… ·
I believe God has a perfect plan for each of His children
today… Jeremiah
29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the
LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future. ·
Do you know what God’s plan for your life is? You’ll never fulfill your destiny until you
do. ·
God has individually drawn up plans for your life. Plans that are good for you… gives us a hope
& future ·
God lays out seven keys to a young man named Timothy… a young
pastor called by God ·
I believe these keys are instructive to every Christian here this
morning… ·
These “keys” will help us “clarify” and “fulfill” our personal
God-Given destiny… Seven Keys… Here’s some
of my keys… Keys unlocks, opens, changes,
reveals, starts… new idea’s, thoughts, actions, lives, destinies… Keys
are important KEY 1. Be Strong
in Christ 2
Timothy 2:1-2 1 You then, my son, be strong in the grace
that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things you have heard
me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also
be qualified to teach others.
Phil 4:13 I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me.
KEY 2. Be Single-Minded in Your Devotion 2
Timothy 2:3-4 3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian
affairs--he wants to please his commanding officer.
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great
cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that
so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out
for us.
KEY 3. Be Strict in Your Diligence 2
Timothy 2:5-10 5 Similarly, if
anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown
unless he competes according to the rules. 6 The hardworking
farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect
on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this… 10
Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that
they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
KEY 4. Be Secure in Your Identification 2
Timothy 2:11-13 11 Here is a
trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; 12
if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him,
he will also disown us; 13 if we are faithless, he will
remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
There
are three groups of people:
John
1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those
who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--
KEY 5. Be Sound in Your Faith 2
Timothy 2:14-19 14 Keep reminding
them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it
is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do
your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not
need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth… 19 Nevertheless,
God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The
Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name
of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
1 John
1:7 But if we walk in the light, as
he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of
Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
KEY 6. Be Sanctified in Your Walk 2
Timothy 2:20-23 20 In a
large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood
and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. 21 If
a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble
purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue
righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord
out of a pure heart. 23 Don't have anything to do with
foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.
John
17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
KEY 7. Be Servant Serving Others 2
Timothy 2:24-26 24 And the Lord's
servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able
to teach, not resentful. 25 Those who oppose him he must
gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them
to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to
their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive
to do his will.
Romans
12:11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep
your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. What
are the seven keys?
Strong in Christ, Single-minded in devotion, Strict in diligence, secure
in identity, sound in faith, sanctified in walk and being a servant serving
others… Next
