“Holiness of God” Isa 6:1-9 and Selected
“Your view of God is the most important view you have, and to the extent your view of God is distorted… to that extent your life is out of focus.”
I. Isaiah Saw the Lord of Glory Isaiah 6:1-4 1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." 4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Mark 1:15 "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
We Must Repent and Receive God’s Holiness
IV. Isaiah Saw the World as God does Isaiah 6:8-9a 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" 9 He said, "Go and tell this people…”
· When forgiveness is received, responsibilities follow
1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
