Numbers 33:2 At the LORD’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages

 

“LIFE IS A JOURNEY”

 

  1. Israel rejected God and demanded a King.

1 Samuel 8:19-20 19  But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20  Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”

1 Samuel 8:7  And the LORD told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.

1 Samuel 12:12b-13 “… No, we want a king to rule over us’–even though the LORD your God was your king. 13  Now here is the king you have chosen, the one you asked for; see, the LORD has set a king over you… 13:1  Saul was [thirty] years old when he became king, and he reigned over Israel [forty-] two years.

What was Saul’s legacy?

Acts 13:22  After removing Saul, he made David their king. He testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’

Ephesians 3:16-19 16  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18  may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19  and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
