“God with Us”

Matthew 1:23  “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel“–which means, “God with us.”

  1. Jesus _______________ exists as God the Son.

John 1:1-2 1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  He was with God in the beginning.

John 1:14  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Revelation 1:8  “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

John 17:5  And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

  1. Jesus’ _______________ from the glories of heaven.

John 16:28  I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”

John 3:13  No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven–the Son of Man.

  1. Jesus’ _______________ on planet earth.

Luke 1:34-35  “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Luke 2:6-7 6  While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7  and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

  1. Why did Jesus come…

To fulfill prophecy? YES!

To deal with sin? YES!

To seek & to save the lost? YES!

The four women in Christ’s genealogy.

     The notorious town called Nazareth.

     The shepherds and their environment.

The Magi, prostitute, tax collector, etc.

Jesus came because __________________ – YES!

John 15:13-14  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.

John 3:18  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
