Happy Birthday Dave!

Today is your birthday, but you are not here,

You're spending your birthday in Heaven this year.

I wish I could bake you a birthday cake,

And celebrate with you, as you reach 78.

But instead, I'll remember other special days,

And be thankful for the years we had, and give God the praise.

For now, you are at peace and out of your pain,

You have left this world forever, and heaven is your gain.

I miss you Dave, as the days and the weeks go by

And I still have my moments, when in solitude, I cry.

I claimed Phil. 4:13 as my help from the Lord,

And he has given me His strength as He promised in his Word.

And so I press on, with the Lord in my life

And thankful for the past blessings of being your wife.

You always said you were worried, about just how I would do

But I am doing very well, and driving a lot more too!

I have made some changes since you went away,

Bought a fan for our bedroom, had Jenny declawed one day.

I also changed churches, after God's will I did seek,

And now I'm worshipping the Lord, in a church, called Cross Creek.

David, you and I are parted now, for just a little while

But we shall meet again someday, and I'll greet you with a smile.
