Acts 2:42-47 & Selected

Acts 2:42-47

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. [43] Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. [44] All the believers were together and had everything in common. [45] Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. [46] Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, [47] praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

 

Faithfulness to Christ will cause us to:

 

  1. Be a people who RECEIVES the Word of God.

DISCIPLESHIP

2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."

 

 

  2. Be a people in correct  RELATIONSHIP.

FELLOWSHIP

1 John 1:3 "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ."

 

 
  1. Be a people who PRAISES God.

    2. WORSHIP

Ephesians 1:3 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ."

Revelation 5:12 "In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"

 

 

   4.  Be a people who is REACHING OUT.

    MINISTRY

Luke 14:23 "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled".

 

 

    5.  Be a people who is bearing FRUIT.

EVANGELISM

John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

John 15:8 "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

 

We maintain a healthy Church by faithfully obeying God's Word by keeping a proper balance of these five truths: DISCIPLESHIP, FELLOWSHIP, WORSHIP, MINISTRY, & EVANGELISM.
