Ps. 105:1-7 & Selected

 

Ps 105:1-7 "Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, O descendants of Abraham his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones. He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth."

 

What is Celebration, Praise & Worship?

 

  1. True Worship is FOCUSING our hearts on God.
    2.

    Ps. 103:1-2 "Of David. Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits--"

     

  2. True Worship requires INVOLVEMENT.

2 Corinthians 9:12 "This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God "

1 Peter 1:8 "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,"

 

  1. True Worship is a SPIRITUAL OFFERING.

Rom 12:1-2 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of worship.2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will."

 

4. Two Requirements for legitimate Worship:

John 4:23-24 "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

    1. IN SPIRIT
    2. IN TRUTH

 

  1. True Worship is a powerful WITNESS.

To the Believer - Neh. 8 & 9 (Revival breaks out)

To the Unbeliever - Acts 2 (3000 souls are saved)
